HESI Cardiac Safety Committee Webinar: SPARKS – A New Perspective in Vital Sign Analysis

  • Event Name : SPARKS - A New Perspective in Vital Sign Analysis
  • Start Date/Time :
  • Location : Webinar, HESI Cardiac Safety Committee

Join the HESI Cardiac Safety Committee on Thursday 8 May at 11:00 am EDT for a webinar focused on The Symmetric Projection Attractor Reconstruction (SPAR) algorithm. (Calendar invite to follow.)

The webinar will feature Dr. Miquel Serna and Prof. Manasi Nandi from Kings College London. The team will provide an update on SPAR as well as the collaboration with HESI that resulted in the recent publication by Bonet-Luz et al., 2024 https://doi.org/10.1016/j.vascn.2024.107546.

SPAR transforms vital sign waveforms into simplified images that highlight subtle changes in signal morphology and variability. By utilizing every available data point, this algorithm can more robustly and accurately capture physiological changes compared to single-point detection methods. In turn, it may provide a more sensitive risk assessment of drug effects or disease progression. Our study on cardiac contractility measurement is just one example of how this method can be useful.
