The COMprehensive Protein Allergen REsource (COMPARE) database is a rigorously curated, open-access resource developed to support the global safety evaluation of novel proteins. It is especially relevant for assessing potential allergenicity in genetically modified organisms (GMOs), novel foods, and biopharmaceutical products. The database is updated annually by an international scientific steering team, following a transparent and peer-reviewed process.
COMPARE is hosted and maintained by the Health and Environmental Sciences Institute (HESI) with contributions from leading experts in allergy research, bioinformatics, and regulatory science.
